Network Commands For Windows

Some basic CMD commands that are useful when troubleshooting networking issues on Microsoft Windows.

Display IP configuration for Windows and Local Area connection
>ipconfig ⁄all

Display hostname of computer
>hostname

Clear DNS Cache
>ipconfig ⁄flushdns

Release IP Address
>ipconfig ⁄release

Renew IP Address
>ipconfig ⁄renew

Open Network Connections folder
>control netconnections

Send ping request to test connection
> ping google.com

Perform trace route
>tracert google.com

Display current connections
>netstat

Display current ARP entries
>arp -a
